To ensure maximum potential Free Server Hosting has partnered up with renowned experts Co-location providers, Uninterrupted Power Supply, Security and Networking to bring together a team of providers that are solely dedicated to what they know best. In the whole we are offering a solution with experts in every field 24/7.

Our Facilities are based in Montreal, Quebec are hosted in three separate locations by our first and primary partner Canix (http://www.canix.ca). Canix is our guarantee for peace of mind to all our customers. Offering state of the art raised flooring and an almost unlimited amount of cabinets/cages and a professional environment that ensures everything comes together in a manner expected of a top level datacenter. Our partnership and volume commitment allow for greatly reduced rates that we gladly pass on to our customers.

Once a server is 100% owned by you it can easily be moved over to a private cabinet or cage with minimal or no downtime at all. Of course it can also continue on our first class / high availability networks at a reduced cost as well. All Canix locations are carrier neutral datacenters and offer a multi-carrier network infrastructure that ensures clients are never locked into a single carrier including our own first class network. Carriers fight for your business and not the other way round, often leading to reduced rates and fees.

Cooling

The environment is maintained and monitored rigorously 24/7/365. Site wide HVAC systems built to provide 133% control over all aspects of the environment. This built in redundancy helps ensure conditions even during maintenance or unexpected system failures occur are kept exactly at norm.

Power

Free Server Hosting offers 24/7/365 Uninterruptible power for all our customers. All power for each cage is designed to support 133% (same as our HVAC systems) of maximum capacity.

Built in redundancy makes sure all servers have enough power to run at all times. In the event the main power fails a series of site-wide industrial UPS systems and diesel generators seamlessly kick in to provide enough power to continue operations for up to 36 hours with on-site fuel. (fuel can also be added for extended amounts of time while generators are in use).

All this state of the art equipment and expertise is to ensure the lights don’t even flicker for a millisecond!

Fire Surpression

The entire datacenter is protected with a 3 stage fire detection and suppression fire system. Each area is separated into multiple zones and controlled and suppressed with a combination of HVAC and non conducting fire suppression agents.

Security

Each datacenter is strictly controlled and access restricted on all levels and rooms by bio-metric and card swipe access points. Color security cameras oversee the entire facility and entrances. Security is paramount to a stable environment and only the strictest policies will suffice. This is why trained security staff and network engineers and technicians monitor all cameras and access logs 24/7/365.

Network

CANIX uses an IP network based on a dark fibre infrastructure connecting it's tree co-location centres. Optical transport infrastructure - CANIX's optical infrastructure, based on a fibre optic physical network. Three-level routing hierarchy - The three-level routing hierarchy (Core, Distribution and Access) facilitates network management and maintenance, and helps ensure robust, reliable data transfers.
